TO OUR 2016 SUMMER INTENSIVE

 
 
libub   Lisette Bustamante has worn a number of professional hats, including dancer, choreographer, artistic director, songwriter, music video director and movement coach. She’s danced alongside superstars such as Madonna, Gwen Stefani, Justin Timberlake, Janet Jackson and Usher on stages all over the globe, and has choreographed for Pink, Prince, Britney Spears and Jennifer Lopez. She’s been featured in commercials for Gap, Pepsi, Pringles, iPod and Sprite, and has choreographed for film and television, with credits including supervising choreographer on America’s Best Dance Crew.  Four years ago, Bustamante co-established Creating Opportunities, a mentoring company that offers classes, seminars and other programs for young dancers, singers and choreographers.  You can catch Lisette as a mentor to talent of all kinds on AMC’s “SHOWVILLE”, where each week she coaches small town talent and works with them to be the best they can be and help them achieve their lifelong dreams.

 

anmo   Anthony Morigerato is the executive director and choreographer for the New York City based AM Productions (2007-Present). Anthony was also the artistic director of the AM Dance Project from 2006-2008. As a performer Anthony has been a soloist and member of Michael Minery's Tapaholics and is the lead tap dancer and choreographer for the musical group Matt and Anthony. He has performed on stages all over the world and on television on the Tony Danza Show and NBC's America's Got Talent. He is also the current Guiness World Record holder for most tap sounds made in one minute.  Anthony is an accomplished dancer in all disciplines having trained at Marymount Manhattan College where he performed the work of ballet and modern luminaries such as Robert Battle, Elizabeth Higgins, Jiri Kylian, Katie Langan, David Parsons, and William Soleu. He has served as an adjudicator and master teacher for dance organizations, competitions, theater schools, and dance studios throughout the nation since 1999, having students go on to perform in every medium of the performance industry on stages all over the world.  Anthony continues to travel the nation performing, teaching, and choreographing, while students flock to NYC to study with him privately. 

 

kyro    Kyle Robinson is a Contemporary choreographer and teacher whose work strongly emphasizes Modern and Ballet technique. At the age of 18, he received the Gold Award in Modern Dance from the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts (NFAA). It was also during this time that he met legendary dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov who began to mentor Kyle from that point on. He went on to fine-tune his abilities by training at the Julliard School, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2009. Throughout his college experience and after, Kyle worked as a freelance dancer with Aszure & Artists as well as the Lar Lubovitch Dance Company. He played the role of Diesel in West Side Story’s First National Tour performing the choreography of Jerome Robins. Kyle was featured on Dancing with the Stars in a pas de duex to Christina Perri's "Arms." He has guest starred on NBC's Parks and Recreation and most recently can be seen on the "You Win" Chase Bank/Lowe's national commercial. Currently, he resides in Los Angeles where he choreographs and performs for Shaping Sound Dance Company, as well as independently.  
 
 
 
alsa Alan Salazar started dancing at the age of 13, and has trained extensively in the disciplines of Ballroom, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Ballet and Hip-Hop. Alan has been part of national and international award winning competitive dance teams and has received individual recognition for solo performances. Alan has been teaching for 13 years. He has performed and choreographed for TV (Star Search, FOX Really Awards, High School Musical 2, Paula Abdul’s Live to Dance, PBS’ A Capital Fourth (Mark Ballas & Chelsie Hightower),So You Think You Can Dance(Choreographer for Soloist’s Witney Carson, Brittany Cherry, and Jenna Johnson and Assistant Choreographer to Mark Ballas), International industrials for USANA, Alphagraphics, Nuskin, Landesk, and professional dance companies (Odyssey, Origins, Latin Revolution, VIBE, Divinity).
  
 
kaykalb Kayla Kalbflesich has been dancing since the age of eight. She obtained her first part as Clara in Radio City Music Hall’s Christmas Spectacular. She later competed on Star Search, won dance titles at WCDE and NYCDA, and assisted on WCDE and Jump. After getting her Biology Bachelor’s from UCSD, Kayla obtained representation in LA. She was a main dancer on ABC’s TV pilot Grace, XFactor, America’s Got Talent, Glee, CBS’s series Vegas, the 85th Academy Awards, The Emmy Awards with Neil Patrick Harris, the movie Jersey Boys and recently worked on the movie Ted2. She has danced for Calle 13 on the Latin Grammy Awards, Rihanna on American Idol, and Cher in her “Woman’s World” music video and “Dressed to Kill” concert video. She has been honored to work with the company Shaping Sounds from the beginning, being involved in their performances on TV “All The Right Moves”, Dancing With The Stars, stage, and tour. Kayla has been a contributing choreographer on a Loreal commercial, the TV show So You Think You Can Dance (the past three seasons), and DWTS. She has assisted many choreographers such as Ray Leeper, Liz Imperio, Spencer Liff, Travis Wall, and Stacey Tookey. She has taught in Australia and all around the United States for various dance conventions. She enjoys working with students and artists everywhere.
 
 
dala Danny Lawn began training at the late age of 13, and competed in Ottawa, Ontario until he was 18. Once he had graduated from high school, Danny made the move to Toronto where he was fortunate enough to train closely with choreographers Linda Garneau, Tiffany McLean, Eryn Waltman, and Leon Blackwood. During the summer of 2008, Danny began back-up dancing for the contestants of CBC's hit summer television show, "How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?" and soon after had the opportunity to dance for such artists as Kreesha Turner, Susie McNeill, Shiloh and Katy Perry.  In December 2008, Danny appeared as a company dancer in Helix Dance Project's annual contemporary production entitled "RAIN: life in full bloom". During this time, Danny was also assisting choreographer's Clarence Ford and Sean Cheesman on the first season of CTV's "So You Think You Can Dance Canada". In 2009, he made it to the Top 14 spot on CTV's season 2 of "So You Think You Can Dance Canada". After the show, he had the chance to work closely with Blake McGrath on his new music video "The Night", as well as Shawn Desman's "Shiver" music video and Keisha Chante's "Table Dancer" music video. He then went on tour with Blake McGrath promoting his new album, "TIME TO MOVE" and filmed two new feature films entitled "Frenemies" and "Make Your Move 3D". He has recently made the move to Los Angeles and spent the past year assisting Mia Michaels on JUMP Dance Convention and various other projects. He also just finished assisting Dee Caspary and Ray Leeper for their Top 16 and Top 10 duets on SYTYCD.  Danny continues to train in all styles and verse himself in many different forms of dance. He is constantly taking, and teaching class around Toronto and LA, and continues to audition as much as possible.
 
 
kayka Makenzie Dustman is a dancer/actress from Southern California. She appeared on Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance Season 10 as a top ten contestant and returned as a Season 11 SYTYCD All Star. Makenzie is a company member of Stacey Tookey’s Still Motion Contemporary Dance Company. She has toured in Europe with Jessie J, The Jacksons, Nelly Furtado and Tom Odell as a stage dancer as well as danced commercially with Neil Patrick Harris and onstage with Hugh Jackman. Makenzie also appeared as an actress in MTV’s Awkward, Season 5.

2014 STUDIO OF THE YEAR AWARD

 

Studio of the Year is awarded to a studio that demonstrates excellence in

dance education throughout a variety of dance styles and age divisions.

 

Each studio must enter a routine in each of the categories listed below.

 

                   Mini & Junior Division:  Ballet, Jazz, Musical Theatre OR Specialty,

Contemporary OR Lyrical, Hip-Hop OR Tap                

 

Teen & Senior Division: Ballet, Jazz, Musical Theatre OR Specialty,

Contemporary OR Lyrical, Hip-Hop OR Tap                 

 

These routines compete during the regular Finals Competition. The five studios that

receive the highest combined scores for their 10 nominated routines then move on to the

Top Five Studio of the Year Dance-Off.  During the Dance-Off, the Top Five studios re-

compete all 10 of their nominated routines and are re-scored by a special panel of judges.

The studio that receives the new highest combined score of all 10 routines, is presented

with the Studio of the Year Award and receives $25,000!!!
